Watch Team Scotland in Rugby World Cup 2023

Team Scotland is Scotland’s rugby union team that plays international men’s rugby union matches in the quadrennial and most prestigious tournament of rugby union, the Rugby World Cup, and Six Nations Championship which is contested between six European nations and takes place annually.

The Rugby Team of Scotland was established in 1871 and played their first international match the same year against England which they won.

After one decade Scotland became part of the Home Nations Championships (now known as the Six Nations Championship) in 1882.

According to the World Rugby Rankings, Scotland is ranked 5th number.

Team Scotland has had many victories in the Home Nations Championship. They won the last championship of Five Nations in 1999, and after that, the tournament became Six Nations with the induction of the sixth nation, Italy.

Team Scotland has been prominent in the Rugby World Cup too, their best result was in 1991, in which they finished fourth, and they have reached the Quarter Finals stage in almost every World Cup they have competed in.

The team is managed by the Scottish Rugby Union, and Mr. Gregor Townsend is the head coach of the team.

They play their home matches at Murrayfield Stadium located in Edinburgh, Scotland.
